A road project in Coweta is affecting drivers who use 141st Street this week.
141st between 273rd and 277th East Avenue at Hausam Hill was closed off Monday as crews began work on a micro-surfacing project. The city says the project will create a protective seal coat meant to extend the life of the road and says this is preventative maintenance that's a cost-effective method to protect the road from weathering.
This section will be closed Monday and possibly Tuesday. As the project moves to the east in phases, other sections of 141st will either be one way only, closed to through traffic, or have other types of closures.
The project will end at the railroad tracks just west of Highway 51 and is expected to take about a week to complete.
