Tulsa Crews Block Traffic Along 71st After Gas Line Hit

Tulsa Emergency crews have blocked 71st St. between Sheridan and Memorial after they say a construction crew hit a gas line.

Tulsa Emergency crews have blocked 71st St. between Sheridan and Memorial after they say a construction crew hit a gas line.

According to police, the gas is leaking into the sewer lines near the Braums near 71st. Crews have evacuated the businesses on the south side of the street while they work to repair the leak

Tulsa Police Issued the following statement about the incident.

"Due to the ruptured gas line, 71st Street from Sheridan to 73rd East Avenue is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. ONG is on scene and is working to resolve the issue. An update will be provided when more information is available,"

The PSO website shows there is about 430 customers area without power in the area. The website says power could be out until after midnight.
