Downtown Tulsa Brewery Uses Rooftop Bar To Host Outdoor Crowds This Winter

Welltown Brewing in Downtown Tulsa says they had to get creative to utilize their rooftop bar.

That's when the owner says they created Iglootown, a private space for you and your friends to enjoy a night out.

"It's an amazing experience here, we come to Welltown all the time, and all of their events," said customer Ashley Head.

Welltown Brewing owner Jeremy Diamond says one of the best parts of his business is the rooftop bar and its great views of downtown Tulsa, but it's not easy to enjoy the rooftop in cooler temperatures.

"During the warmer months, spring, summer, and fall, it becomes a hot spot, a place where people want to come and enjoy the downtown views, but during the winter months it's always been, man I wish we could enjoy it," he said.

Because of that, and people wanting to space out during the pandemic, he had the idea to create Iglootown.

Private igloos for people to just hang out with their friends and enjoy the warmth and the views.

You're able to order food and drinks, and each igloo comes with a heater so you can stay warm.

"These heat up pretty good, we typically say 20 to 25 degrees warmer than it is outside, so if it's 30 degrees, it feels like 50, which sounds a little cold, but when you are jacketed up, it's actually quite nice," he said.

Ashley Head says she comes to Welltown Brewing, all of the time, but last year she wasn't able to get a reservation.

She says she knew she couldn't miss her chance this year.

"The ambiance is amazing, it honestly feels like you aren't in Tulsa, but you are," she said.

Diamond says he never expected the igloos to be this popular.

He says they are already booked until January, but reservations are on a rolling window, so new spots open every day.

He says he knows Iglootown will be around for a long time.

"Every year this is now a staple here at Welltown Brewing, get people engaged and excited about the rooftop during the wintertime," he said.

The igloos will stay up until late March.
