Shop Owner Says Stolen Dinosaur Statue Won't Bring Him Down

The owner of the souvenir store is speaking up after someone stole a dinosaur statue from his store this week.

The owner of the souvenir store is speaking up after someone stole a dinosaur statue from his store this week.

Surveillance video from Decopolis on 11th Street near Peoria shows a man with tools taking apart the statue then leaving with it. William Franklin owns the shop and he says he's not going to the left the theft of the thousand-dollar statue get him down.

"This is a place that I've made to be a happy place. Just today, there was someone who heard the music and started dancing. And I hear people singing. That's what this is about. Y'know, I'm not going to be sad about something like that," said Franklin.

Franklin says he's already ordered a replacement statue, along with another type of dinosaur.
