A now-fired Tulsa County deputy has been charged with stealing nearly $100,000 from an older family member.

Prosecutors say Phillip Annis has had power of attorney over the victim since June of 2018, due to the victim's Alzheimer's Disease and other medical issues. They say he was responsible for maintaining the victim's account at the care facility where the victim was living.

DHS says their investigation found the victim's debt to the facility ballooned to more than $40,000, and a review of the victim's personal accounts revealed Annis had taken more than $98,000 from the victim.
