State Lawmaker Files Bill That Would Guarantee Recess For Kids In Public School

A state lawmaker has filed a bill to guarantee that kids in public schools get recess.

The bill is named the "Active Oklahoma Kids Act."

It would require 40 minutes of outdoor recess for kids up to 8th grade every day that the weather allows.

The bill also states that recess cannot be taken away because of a student's bad behavior.

The legislative session begins February 7.
