Near-normal January temperatures are hanging around for now, but a wonderful warm-up is in sight for the weekend!
Stubborn cloud cover will be the main impact on our Thursday forecast across Green Country. Clouds should gradually thin in spots as we head throughout the day, but the longer they linger the chillier it will stay. Highs look to generally reach the mid 40s areawide this afternoon, though again any cloudier spots would be colder. Winds will be mostly light before we pick up a north breeze in the latter half of the day.
North winds will get a bit gustier on Thursday night into early Friday morning as another brief front swings through. Friday will get off to quite the cold start with lows in the 20s and wind chills in the teens. But the week will end on a sunnier note with highs rebounding to the upper 40s Friday afternoon.
If you don't have any outdoor plans for the weekend, make some! Mild weather quickly returns Saturday as southwest winds kick back in. We'll soar into the lower 60s Saturday afternoon with plenty of sunshine. The only drawback will be the elevated fire danger Saturday with those gusty southwest winds. Sunday will be just a hair cooler but still beautiful with sunshine and highs in the upper 50s.
You may have heard some chatter about this already: Our weather pattern may take a much more active and colder turn around the middle of next week. That's still a long way out, but we will be keeping you updated on that potential in the days ahead.
I hope you have a great Thursday, Green Country! You can follow me on Twitter @StephenNehrenz as well as my Facebook page Meteorologist Stephen Nehrenz to stay up to date with the very latest.
