Sand Springs Rib Crib Hosts Fundraiser In Honor Of 3 Murder Victims

Family and friends held a fundraiser at Rib Crib in memory of a mother and her two kids who were killed in Sand Springs.

Investigators said Staci Smith and her two daughters, River and Piper, were killed by the children's dad, Phillip Ross.

Organizers wanted this evening's event to also raise awareness about domestic violence.

"It's not something that's easy to talk about. I just feel like people need resources and if we can help to break the silence a little bit, we want to be able to do that," said Christina Johnson, Shift Manager. "Hopefully somebody out there gets a little bit of help from this tonight."

A portion of dinner sales will be donated to the Day Spring Villa; an emergency shelter for domestic violence victims in Sand Springs.
