With the winter weather heading our way, grocery stores are packed.
"You had to drive around just to find a place to park," said shopper Vernita Farrow.
Farrow joined the crowds on February 1, to do some weekly shopping, but also got a few extra things ahead of this week's winter storm.
"Meat and vegetables and a bottle of wine," she said.
Farrow said she was able to get what she needed but had to wait a little longer than usual.
"I turned around after I stood there a while and there were 5 people with carts behind me and 4 in front of me," she said.
The Home Depot near 11th and Elgin was busy too, with lots of people looking for last-minute items to prepare for the coming cold snap.
Clayton McFall is part of the maintenance crew at the AAON plant in Tulsa. He said when winter weather comes, they have a lot of work to do.
“2 million square foot facility and we [have to] keep all the parking lot, driveway and sidewalks cleared," he said.
McFall said they came to Home Depot on February 1, looking for snow shovels but didn't have much luck.
"The way everything is anymore, you can't find anything. They were needing big scoop shovels. We don't have any here, so we make do with what we have," he said.
Not everybody was buying shovels and bags of groceries.
Charles Whittaker was getting flowers for a special someone.
"You know, trying to show a little appreciation, you know just do a nice gesture," he said.
Whittaker has the same feelings about the weather that so many Oklahomans do.
"You know Oklahoma weather, so this week it'll be ice and snow and next week it'll probably be 60 degrees," he said.
A store manager at Reasor's on 15th and Lewis said the coming snow and ice could impact truck deliveries in the next couple of days.
However, things should be back to normal by the weekend.
