Collision repair shops are warning drivers to be careful in this winter weather.
Local shop owners said supply chain issues have made it harder to get car parts.
An increase in wrecks this week could mean your car may not get fixed for months.
Saul Bojorquez, who works in the industry, is preparing for a busy few days.
"Around this time last year when that big storm hit, there was a lot of car accidents going on and a lot of phone calls. People wanting to get estimates," said Bojorquez.
Bojorquez, who works for his dad at Bojorquez Restoration Body Shop near North Lewis and Independence, specializes in collision repair.
The collision repair industry is facing supply chain issues.
"Before the pandemic, we were able to get parts quick,” he said. “Now we are seeing some people are like ‘oh this is out of stock, oh this is on back order’ and it's on back order for months."
That back order is causing some customers to wait longer than normal.
Bojorquez said a truck that came into his shop in November with body damage just now got fixed, since the part was delayed.
It's not just at their shop.
Another shop said some cars at their business are delayed until May.
Across the country, it's more of the same.
Bojorquez worries this winter storm could make it worse for local shops.
"It is a little bit hard for people and I just want everyone to be safe," he said.
