Union Students To Vote On New Logo For Redhawks Mascot

Union students in 4th-grade and up are voting on the new logo for the school's Redhawks mascot this week.

School leaders say they have gotten a lot of feedback about the new logo and so far the majority of people in the community are on board.

A survey from staff, students, parents and alumni showed 75% said they either "like" or "love" the new Redhawks logo.

More than 1,500 people participated in the survey.

The logo was designed by a student at Union High School.

School leaders say they are pleased with the response to the new logo and have already made some changes to it, including making Union's name bigger.

The Union School Board voted to discontinue the use of the Union Redskins mascot back in 2020. That mascot had been in place for more than 75 years.

Students will vote this week on the Redhawks logo design.

Results should be in sometime next week.
