Tallgrass Prairie Preserve Partners With Electric Automaker

The Tallgrass Prairie Preserve near Pawhuska is helping develop off-road capabilities for electric pickups.

The Preserve is the largest stretch of protected tallgrass prairie on earth and has a huge herd of bison.

It's partnered with electric automaker Rivian to test out its new R-ONE-T truck.

Rivian said the Preserve can benefit because the nearly-silent vehicle is perfect for work near its animals.

Meanwhile, the automaker will get real-world data from the off-road conditions to better improve its trucks for all its buyers.
