A man is being held in the Delaware County jail Saturday following an hours-long manhunt spanning multiple counties.
Authorities in Mayes County notified an Ottawa County deputy Friday about two possible stolen vehicles in Afton. One of them was an orange vehicle which was being tracked while driving in Afton.
Ottawa County Lt. Holli McDaniel located the driver and vehicle. She attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver -- identified as Trever Shankles -- fled the scene.

The pursuit took McDaniel and the suspect into Delaware County. Shankles crashed the vehicle and then abandoned the vehicle. When Shankles left the vehicle, he pointed a gun at Lt. McDaniel. She fired her weapon, wounding Shankles in the thigh. He was still able to escape into a wooded area.
Shankles was later found approximately an hour later, north of his last known whereabouts. He was transported to St. Francis Hospital before he was turned over to authorities.
Shankles is being held on multiple complaints, including possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony eluding, felony pointing a firearm, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, two Ottawa County complaints of controlled dangerous substance possession, first-degree burglary and an unlawful possession of a firearm county from Jasper County, Missouri.
McDaniel has been placed on paid administrative leave.
