The city of Sapulpa says it has crews ready to work 12-hour shifts if needed during the next round of winter weather.
City leaders say they have about 500 tons of salt on hand and Sapulpa Public Works Director Steve Hardt says there isn't much they do differently when preparing for ice compared to snow.
"Depends on how the precipitation comes down and how much there is. We will obviously be out pretreating bridges with salt ahead of time, regardless of whether it's ice or snow. The more snow we get the more plowing we do, more ice, more salt," said Hardt.
Hardt also encourages people to keep faucets dripping to prevent pipes from freezing.
