A Tulsa man was shot and killed on Thursday and Tulsa Police say officers are looking for the shooter.
According to TPD, a 59-year-old James Kinnard was shot and killed inside a home near East 54th Street North and North Peoria Avenue while he was working on the home with his son. Police say at some point a third person showed up at the home and an argument broke out between Kinnard and the suspect. At some point during the argument, the suspect fired a shot that hit and killed Kinnard. Police say Kinnard's son then ran to the Tulsa Dream Center to call 911 because he didn't have a phone.
Police found Kinnard inside the home but the suspect was not at the scene. Police say the suspect and Kinnard did know each other and that this was not a random shooting. Police have not released any details about the shooter at this time.
"At this point, all we know is one round was fired. As far as the intent, we are going to have to talk to the suspect, to get all of the facts right now. It's a little sparse for witnesses. So we are asking if anyone saw it or heard it, give us a call so we can get that information,” said Captain Richard Meulenberg with Tulsa Police.
