Chilly and breezy weather is expected on Monday morning ahead of a cold front that could bring winter weather back to Green Country.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
Partly cloudy and chilly weather remains for most of northeastern OK on Monday. After a one-day warm-up Wednesday, another strong cold front arrives Thursday afternoon bringing colder weather and another chance for some wintry precipitation for part of Eastern Oklahoma. The weekend storm system continues to rapidly move east of the state, but cold and breezy conditions remain for Monday with afternoon highs staying in the lower to mid-40s along with northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph. A few sprinkles will remain possible early Monday morning across far southeastern OK before exiting by midday.
A series of weak upper troughs will brush the state Tuesday into early Wednesday but probabilities for any showers or sprinkles should remain across far southeastern OK Tuesday. Chilly weather is likely to remain Tuesday with morning lows in the 20s and highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s. We’ll see a one-day warm-up Wednesday with afternoon sunshine and highs in the lower 60s. A strong arctic front and upper-level system nears the state by the end of the week bringing more cold air and some wintry precip chances late Thursday into Friday. Some accumulation is possible.
Arctic air will spread southward into the metro Thursday afternoon with temps falling from the 50s and 60s into the 30s by early evening. A strong upper-level trough will near the state Friday bringing moisture up and over the colder air at the surface. This creates the potential for wintry weather across part of the area late Thursday night into Friday. Current data support a deep enough air mass over Northeastern OK to support mostly snow with a mix across southeastern OK. Data remains inconsistent on the exact track of the upper-level system and additional changes are likely to this portion of the forecast. Cold weather will remain Friday and Saturday before quickly moderating Sunday into early next week.
Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great day!
