The state house passed a bill that would allow more people to get protective orders. The bill modifies the definition of "family or household members," to include those not related by blood or marriage who live in the same home. This could include roommates or a landlord-tenant situation.

Broken Arrow Representative, Ross Ford, wrote the bill after police say a man was killed by his landlord two days after he was denied a protective order.

The bill will now head to the senate.
