A Girl Scouts program is helping local scouts, whose parents are incarcerated, enjoy activities around Tulsa for spring break.

The program is called "Girl Scouts Beyond Bars" and it's for troops with mothers who are incarcerated.

The program manager says they're making sure those kids have special activities planned this week for Spring Break.

The activities are not only for kids in the program, they also have girl scouts from different troops participating in their activities.

Shannon Luper is the program manager for the program.

Luper says that during the first three days of Spring Break, they have plans for the girl scouts to do various activities at different parks like building tents, making birdhouses and enjoying things they can do in Tulsa.

Luper says the girls are already in the planning stages for what they're going to be doing for Mother's Day this year.
