Plant experts and plant lovers filled Woodward Park on Friday for the 67th Annual SpringFest.
The event continues Saturday hosted by the Tulsa Garden Center. Vendors from around Green Country and the state sprouted across the park to ring in spring. You can find things like herbs and native plants, perennials, and fresh-cut flowers, and even items to spruce up your garden.
Along with plants, you can find goods like wine, honey, and pecans from local businesses. This event is educational with experts ready to answer any horticulture questions and offer advice on gardening practices. One vendor, the Tulsa Area Iris Society, educates people on the benefits of growing irises. President Jim Palmer says the society has maintained an iris bed at Woodward Park for nearly 50 years. He says events like this allow his group to exchange ideas with shoppers and other vendors.
"Just getting to interact with the public. A lot of people either haven't heard of us or don't know how to connect with us. It gives us an opportunity to connect with those people and really just interact with new people,” Palmer said.
The event is free to attend.
You can check out SpringFest until 4 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
