National Work Zone Awareness Week Kicks Off

National Work Zone awareness week kicks off on Monday. It's a time to educate drivers about the importance of driving safely in construction work zones.

This year's theme is "Work zones are a sign to slow down."

In 2021, 20 people were killed and more than 200 were injured in more than 15 hundred collisions in Oklahoma work zones.

Experts say many of those crashes were caused by inattentive driving, following too closely and speeding in construction zones.
