The next phase of jury selection is underway in the David Ware murder trial. This is the seventh day of the selection process. The judge and attorneys for both sides are starting to whittle down the group of 50 to get 12 jurors for the trial.

The judge started general jury selection this afternoon, which is expected to go much quicker. He’s asked each person questions like what do they do for work, which part of Tulsa county do they live, what does their spouse do for work, and if they’ve ever served on a jury.

Attorneys for both sides spent the previous six days getting these 50 potential jurors who all say they can consider death as a sentence if Ware is found guilty.

The people in this group of 50 also say that even if they have seen or heard about the case, they don’t have a firm opinion of guilt or innocence.

Prosecutors will question the group tomorrow, then Wares attorneys will question them on Thursday. They plan to have a jury in place by Thursday afternoon, then start presenting evidence on Monday.
