There are 49 potential jurors left in the group and prosecutors and defense attorneys will start excusing people on Thursday. Prosecutors spent nearly four hours asking the group a wide range of questions.
Since this case involves law enforcement, prosecutors spent most of the time asking people about their opinions of law enforcement, if they’ve had any positive or negative interaction with police and what are their expectations of law enforcement.
Prosecutors also asked people if they tend to believe police officers more or less because of their profession. Prosecutors also read the potential jurors a list of witnesses they may hear from during the trial, and asked people to raise their hands if they knew any of the witnesses, which very few did.
They asked about the jurors views on gun ownership, gun laws and if they’ve ever been accused of a crime.
Wares attorney Kevin Adams will question the group of 49 on April 14. Both parties expect to have a better idea of the 12 jurors by Thursday afternoon.
