Tulsa Homebuilders Association Donates To Local Food Bank

With the cost of groceries rising so fast due to inflation, donations to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma are more important than ever.

The Tulsa Homebuilders Association presented the food bank with a $3,000 check on Wednesday.

The association raised the money with advance ticket sales for the Greater Tulsa Home and Garden Show and with the sale of Reasor's flowers during the event.

"Food prices have gone up, as well as gas prices which increases transportation costs, so all that factors into the difficulty that people are having getting access to food," said John Sanders from Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

Officials say the money will be enough to pay for 12,000 meals.
