Students are heading back to class as the new school year begins in Bixby on Tuesday morning.
The first school bell rings at 7:50 a.m. for students in Pre-K through 6th grade. For secondary students, the bell rings an hour later at 8:50 a.m.
The district's calendar sets up Fridays to be early release days starting August 26th. All students will get out an hour earlier on those days.
Orientation meetings for parents begins on August 22 and continue through the end of the month, depending on your child's school site.
For transportation, parents are able to download the Ride 360 app to see their child's bus route and track the status of the route in real time.
In terms of staffing, the district says they are doing just fine in certified teaching positions. There are at least three bus driver spots currently open and the district says it could always use more substitutes.
Payments for meals are also required again this school year, unless an application is filled out and approved for free or reduced meals.
