The cancellation left several people who were gathered at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum disappointed because they had great seats to watch the launch. Despite the disappointing outcome, many that were present say they are still excited for the next attempt.
"I'm going to see if I can come out every time this Artemis mission goes on, so I can see it live. It's a historic moment," said high schooler Ryan Bach.
Artemis I is the first of several missions for NASA's space exploration venture. The Orion capsule is expected to travel to the moon and back within about 45 days. NASA says future missions will land the first woman and person of color on the moon.
The launch is scheduled to take place from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. NASA calls the rocket the most powerful ever assembled.
NASA says the next date to try again will be on Friday, September 2.
