The Sand Springs community is mourning the loss of three students who were killed in a crash near Charles Page High School.

The crash killed Ethan Gibson, Cyra Saner, and Kylee Weaver.

Two more students, Sirrah Matthews and Logan Childers, are still in the hospital.

Despite the bright lights and fanfare, there's a deep sense of pain in the hearts of students, staff and parents at the stadium.

On the surface, it might've looked like a normal football game Friday night.

But look a little closer, and you'll find signs of the intense grief all around the stadium.

Amid the crowds of fans, students signed posters honoring their lost classmates.

Landen Horton was close with both Logan Childers and Ethan Gibson. Logan is still in the hospital.

“Whenever we’re walking through the hall it just feels empty. It doesn’t feel the same without Logan, without Ethan, without any of the other people,” he said.

Moments before game time, staff made an announcement honoring the victims, followed by a moment of silence.

Three seats tonight were kept empty, in honor of the three killed.

Horton and another fellow teammate Jayden Pait said there are similar memorials back at school.

“It warms my heart just to see our community come together," Pait said.
