Fall temperatures have returned to Green Country.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
Dry air will result in cool mornings and warm afternoons for the next few days. Morning lows will drop into the upper 40s and lower 50s in the cooler valleys of Eastern Oklahoma Monday morning and Tuesday morning. Afternoon highs will stay in the lower to mid-80s this week. Metro temps will start mostly in the lower to mid-50s with highs in the mid-80s. Outside of a few stray, passing clouds, sunny conditions will be expected this week.
The front that moved across the area Sunday will bring dividends of cool mornings and slightly above normal afternoons for the entire week. A weak, back-door boundary arrives from the Missouri Valley Tuesday night into Wednesday morning bringing a re-enforcing shot of dry low-level air. Good news for morning lows but bad news for worsening drought and fire danger issues. Fire spread rates will continue to be problematic for the rest of the week even though wind speeds will not be exceptionally strong. The lack of significant storm systems nearing the state means the forecast will continue with no appreciable mentions of precipitation anytime soon.
Ian is now a hurricane. The potential for landfall across or slightly east of the Big Bend region of Florida continues as this hurricane strengthens to major hurricane status over the next 36 to 48 hours, if not sooner. Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great day!
