September is Sickle Cell Awareness month and according to the Sickle Cell Disease Association, 100,000 Americans have SCD.

About one in 13 African Americans carry the sickle cell trait and many do not know they have it.

Dr. Stacy Chronister, an Internal Medicine Specialist with OSU Medicine, joined the news on 6 team on Tuesday to discuss Sickle Cell Awareness month.
