More cool fall-like weather is expected on Wednesday.

Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:

Temps & Rain Chances

A rather uneventful pattern remains across northeastern Oklahoma for the next few days with no significant opportunity for rainfall in our immediate future. This pattern, with some minor variations, will continue for at least the next 7 days.

Thursday Lows

Borrowing a phrase from the 1973 song by Steelers Wheel, we’re “stuck in the middle” for the foreseeable future regarding our weather pattern. A trough across the west and the hurricane and to our east means a blocking pattern for the central plains for a while. The upper air pattern from the northwest can sometimes throw us a bone, but not now. A back door surface boundary is advancing from the northeast today. It brings northeast winds for part of the area and even lower dew point temps into eastern sections of the state. While this will keep the future mornings cool and the afternoons mild and warm, it also keeps us dry with worsening drought conditions. If we don’t pick up significant rain soon the fire danger issues will be increasing quickly over the next few weeks.

Thursday Highs

The hurricane is moving slowly toward the Florida gulf coast this morning as a dangerous category four hurricane. To hear more about hurricane Ian, please listen to my daily weather podcast using the link below.

Thanks for reading the Wednesday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day!
