Jonathan Polasek

Jonathan Polasek joined News On 6 as a multimedia journalist in August of 2022 after working in Midland and Odessa.

Jonathan is from Houston, Texas, and studied at the University of Texas at Austin where he got his degree in journalism. While studying at the University of Texas, Jonathan also worked as a sports reporter, anchor and host for Texas Student Television Sports.

Jonathan got his start reporting in the Permian Basin with the NBC affiliate, NewsWest 9. He covered all kinds of stories while there, from the oil and gas industry to the historic winter storm in 2021 and even high school football as the Game of the Week reporter. From there, he moved up to producing and anchoring NewsWest 9's weekend shows as the weekend anchor.

Jonathan is a huge sports fan. He follows Houston sports extensively, especially the Houston Astros. When Jonathan isn't working, you can catch him with some sort of game on if he isn't at one in person. He also likes to go deep sea fishing and hunting in the summer and fall. On other days, he likes to explore Tulsa.
