You don't have to be an artist to create a work of art at Purple Glaze Studio in Tulsa.

"They're just in awe usually of what they've done. People really do surprise themselves with what they're capable of,” said Purple Glaze Owner Jeff Stunkard.

Stunkard's father started Purple Glaze Studio in Tulsa nearly 30 years ago. He passed away a year and a half ago, but his legacy lives on, as Stunkard and his wife now own the studios.

You can book a party at the Brookside or South Tulsa location or just walk in.

There are so many things to paint such as plates, bowls, mugs, and objects like crosses. You can pick out your colors and see what it will look like afterward.

You'll pick out a ceramic item, paint it, then it heads to the kiln and a couple of days later, you can pick up your creation.

"And when you come back, it's all nice and shiny, and all your colors are nice and vibrant after that,” Stunkard said.

He says the South Tulsa location also offers acrylic paints, which are helpful for kids.

"In all honesty, it doesn't feel like work when I come here. You get to really see the best in people. Tulsans are so artistic and open to new ideas. You get to see the best in people when they're here, they're here to have fun and create something unique, whether for themselves or a gift for somebody,” Stunkard said.

The studio’s proving anyone can be an artist if you put your mind and hands to the task
