Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Joy Hofmeister, spent Nov. 2 in Green Country as part of her "Hometown Tour” Bus Stop.

The Tulsa resident visited with voters at Veterans Park in Broken Arrow, Woodward Park in Tulsa, the Greenwood Cultural Center, Unity Square in Bartlesville and First Oklahoma Bank in Jenks.

Hofmeister plans to make 50 stops in 27 counties between now and Nov. 7.

Joy Hofmeister knows to become Oklahoma’s next governor, she will need to appeal to a variety of voters.

"We can take this state back and say 'No' to Governor Stitt's self-dealings, to his cronyism and to his corruption, and I've had a front-row seat, and we are going to say, 'No more,'” said Hofmeister to a crowd of supporters outside the Greenwood Cultural Center.

In the Greenwood District, Hofmeister met with voters like Joyce Smith-Williams, a longtime democrat.

"She is a moderate person, and I think if you've got somebody that's open to both sides, perhaps you can get more done," said Smith-Williams.

At Woodward Park in Tulsa, Hofmeister even changed the opinions of some lifetime republicans like Linda and Wayne Bradshaw.

"I've never come out for anybody,” said Linda Bradshaw. “Today, I felt like I needed to because I feel like for our state this time, she's the best choice."

Rick Porter said he was undecided until he met Hofmeister.

"I sort of feel she's got a more valid case and a chance of being a force of change for the good," said Porter.

As supporters signed Hofmeister's bus before it moved on in its 50-stop tour, she vowed to fight through the race.

"We can certainly tell this race has tightened,” said Hofmeister. “That is very clear. I do think that this is all about turnout, and so lots of republicans, independents and democrats are voting for me, and we need that bipartisan support, and I want to lead in a bipartisan way."
