The City of Broken Arrow launched a new mobile app for residents to use, replacing the previous app the city rolled out back in 2015.

The "My Broken Arrow Action Center" app is available now, and city officials said they are excited for residents to use it.

According to Broken Arrow's communication manager, Aaron McColloch, the idea behind the app was to create something more beneficial to the citizens of Broken Arrow.

One of the biggest differences between the new app and the old app is that the new app allows citizens to get in contact with the city much easier than in the past.

While the app still allows users to report issues such as damaged street signs or pot holes, the app also provides information on things to do in the city.

"This one also has a functionality such as the city calendar, so they could see the different things that are happening in the community," McColloch said. "It also has places in there where people can look to find places to eat, shop, places to stay, that sort of thing. We have updated news throughout. It really is a resource for our citizens to go to find out what’s happening here in Broken Arrow."

McColloch also said the app is a way to make things better for the city, and the people within.

"Like everything else, we’re constantly looking at ways that we can upgrade to make things better for citizens," McColloch said. "This is just another one of those things that we looked at and said this needs an upgrade from what we’ve been using."

The app is free to download, and McColloch said that if you still have the old app, it should start to direct you to download the new app if you haven't downloaded it already.
