Former Professional Baseball Player's Collection Stolen From BA Storage Unit

A former professional baseball player from Broken Arrow is furious after decades worth of sports memorabilia was stolen out of his family's storage unit.

The long list of stolen items includes a baseball card collection that had been passed down to the victim from his father.

David Rollandini said this isn't a sob story. He's angry.

He said he is having to deal with insurance and doesn't even know what all is missing.

Rollandini said how do you put a price tag on something that's priceless to you?

"Thieves suck," said Rollandini.

Rollandini was keeping all of the stolen items in a storage unit. However, he most certainly had plans for it.

"I was either gonna pay for one of my daughter's weddings or pass it down to my grandkids, so it's definitely some salt in the wound," said Rollandini.

Rollandini said the owner of the facility called a week ago to say someone broke into the storage unit.

"They grinded off the latch," said Rollandini.

News On 6's Ashlyn Brothers called the storage place, but they said they didn't have surveillance video and wouldn't be making a statement.

"I had wedding pictures on the floor, and you know, my kids drawings. Every tub was just dumped out," said Rollandini.

He said they took his sports memorabilia collection, along with household antiques.

"It's probably dumped out on the living room of some crack head's house. It's gonna be hard to find," said Rollandini.

Rollandini had a professional pitching career and played baseball in the Olympics, and was able to collect some very valuable items from hall of famers.

"I played with and against and met a lot of great players over my career and collected a pretty good amount of singed baseballs, bats, jerseys, mitts, spikes, hats, batting gloves that were all really valuable monetarily and to me," said Rollandini.

Not to mention, they took the baseball card collection, which his dad passed on to him.

"Being an 80s and 90s child, I continued to collect. It was extensive. It wasn't a dusty shoebox of baseball cards in the attic," said Rollandini.

The Rollandini's filed a police report with Broken Arrow Police and are offering a $500 reward for the return of their stolen items.
