A 3rd Grader Becomes A Published Author

A 3rd grader in South Carolina wrote his own book to share his passion for the military with his family and friends. 

At 8-years-old, Lane Russell can call himself a published author.

Russell’s grandparents took him on a trip to the U.S.S. Yorktown in Charleston where he got to take pictures of all his favorite ships.

The idea came when his grandmother asked him if he wanted to make a book about his experience.

Russell recorded everything he saw and his grandmother transcribed his words into a book.

He has been selling his book and getting ready for book signings.
