Two separate shootings Sunday night and Monday morning in Okmulgee that sent one man to the hospital are believed to be connected, police say.
Joe Prentice, Okmulgee Chief of Police, said the first shooting happened near East Randolph and North Ohio Avenue when shots were fired into a vehicle around 8:30 p.m. Nobody was injured, Prentice says.
The second shooting happened a few miles northwest in the 1300 block of N. Collins. Prentice says several shots were fired into a home around 2:30 a.m. and Bryan Meneley, 41, was hit in the hip and taken to a hospital.
Meneley is expected to recover, authorities say.
Prentice says both incidents are believed to be related to each other, as well as a recent burglary at the residence.
Police say investigators have compiled a list of possible suspects and are working to determine the reason for the shooting.
This is a developing story, stay tuned for updates.
