Owasso Widening Project On 116th Street Set To Begin

Another section of 116th street north in Owasso is set to be widened after city leaders approve a $17.3 million project.

The 116th Street North project between Garnett and Mingo continues years of work to improve the road west of Highway 169. When the project is complete, the road will have two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane, as well as bike lanes, sidewalks, and trail access.

The intersection at Mingo will also be widened and have a new traffic light. There will also be a new traffic light at the entrance to the sports park which will be realigned with North 103rd Place East. The work is scheduled to start in May and will take about 16 months to complete.

The work happening now between 129th and Garnett is scheduled to wrap up in September.
