Family and friends of a murdered musician are frustrated with the court process after Tuesday's hearing got postponed again.

They said every time they show up to the courthouse in honor of the victim, 38-year-old Nathan Hull, it's like reliving the tragedy.

Nathan's family in the courtroom was visibly upset, shaking, and even having a hard time breathing.

After more than an hour of waiting their turn, the judge suggested the hearing be moved to April 6.

“It’s hard to breathe. It’s hard to think. The anger and aggression that I felt in that moment, I shouldn’t have to feel. None of us should have to feel,” said Jessica Morrison, mother of victim’s youngest child.

Nathan Hull's family and closest friends went to courtroom 401, expecting a plea deal, where Chris Bratton would plead guilty to 2nd degree murder and get sentenced to 40 years in prison.

“DA had put things in place for this to potentially come to an end today. To have a sentencing today. Maybe not ideal for all of us, but to be put in the position where it’s put off again, I mean, beyond frustrating," said Morrison.

Nathan's brother Oswin drove 10 hours to be here for the hearing.

“Been delay after delay not knowing what’s going to happen. The whole process is very obscure," said Oswin Hull, victim’s younger brother.

Bratton is charged with shooting Nathan outside of a Tulsa bar in July of 2021.

Nathan confronted Bratton who was breaking into cars.

“Letting a five-year-old child know that his father would never come back due to someone's senseless gun violence was the worst day of my life. Was the worst day of his life," said Morrison. "To have taken the innocence from my child and from his four sisters is abhorrent."

Morrison said Bratton's courtroom behavior makes her sick.

“Empty, worthless, nothing. He’s worth nothing. No remorse, smirking, laughing,” said Morrison.

Oswin said Nathan was an outgoing, funny man who was a musician and a father of five.

"He was just a source of joy to a lot of people,” said Oswin.

Bratton's public attorney has argued in the past, Bratton fired the gun out of fear and didn't even know if it hit anyone. He argued this doesn't rise to level of 1st degree murder.

We've contacted the public defender's officer for comment and are waiting to hear back.
