TULSA, Okla. - Shower and storm chances hang around on Friday morning before another day of windy weather.

Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:

Temps & Rain Chances

A powerful storm system rolls across Eastern Oklahoma on Friday morning through midday bringing a small window for strong and severe storms followed by increasing fire weather concerns Friday afternoon. Strong southwest winds at 25 to near 50 mph will be likely later today with even higher gusts near 60 mph along the Kansas state line. Wind advisories, high wind warnings, and red flag warnings will be required through the afternoon. A pacific front moves across the area later tonight bringing north winds and cooler weather for Saturday. Saturday morning temperatures will start in the upper 30s and lower 40s and finish with daytime highs in the mid-60s. Another fast-developing system dives out of the High Plains of Texas and moves across the Red River Valley late Sunday night with scattered thunderstorms along those areas. I’ll include probabilities along the highway 270 corridor southward Sunday. This activity should remain south of the Tulsa metro. Another developing system early next week allows warm and moist air to return northward Monday and Tuesday with windy and warm conditions. Afternoon highs will reach the mid-80s both days before another powerful storm system brings another threat for strong to severe storms in Eastern Oklahoma followed by extreme fire danger issues in the central and western part of the state.

Storm Zone

Most high-resolution data seem to suggest most of the shower and storm opportunities will be confined to the far eastern sections of the area this morning through mid-day before quickly moving into Arkansas. But the parameters for severe weather are also located near the metro for the early morning hours. We continue to monitor for strong and severe thunderstorm development, including the metro, for the next few hours. A strong cap is currently in place but should erode some as strong forcing and cooler air aloft arrives. The chance for storms near the Tulsa metro remain limited this morning, but any storms that do develop could quickly become severe. As always, we encourage you to remain aware of your weather surroundings not only this morning but also this afternoon with very strong winds and fire danger issues returning.
