Owasso Coffee Company Creates Project For Elementary Students To Spread Kindness

An Owasso coffee shop believes a small act of kindness can have a big impact on someone's day.

A cup of joe can already change the way people start their day. The owner of Jordy Jo Coffee Company, Jordan Colt, wanted to take it a step further.

She created a project for elementary schools in the Owasso area to decorate coffee sleeves with personal messages on them.

Colt is a former teacher and opened Jordy Jo Coffee Company last year.

"I love coffee and a couple of years ago my husband told me, 'Jordan you should open a coffee shop,'” Colt said.

Although she loves her new job, this project was a way to stay connected to her teaching background.

"We thought what better way do it than the kids in our community, and they have come up with some of the coolest, the funniest little sayings that will just put a smile on anybody's face no matter if you're having a bad day,” Colt said.

Every sleeve is different. Some have funny sayings, while others are inspirational quotes.

"Just all these things that can really make someone feel special and have an impact on their day,” Colt said. “They're all very encouraging."

She hopes to do something like this again when they run out of the sleeves.
