TULSA, Okla. - Expect more cool temperatures on Monday before shower and storm chances return to Green Country.

Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:

Temps & Rain Chances

Unseasonably cool weather will continue for the next several days including the potential for beneficial rain across part of northern and eastern Oklahoma. After a very chilly start on Monday morning, temperatures will climb into the mid or upper 60s with mostly sunny conditions at midday with increasing clouds by afternoon and evening. Gusty south winds at 15 to 25 mph will develop over the next several hours. The main upper-level storm system remains across the Intermountain region and the Pacific Northwest this morning, but a small wave at the base of the system brings some clouds later this afternoon and a chance for a few scattered showers this evening. A much higher likelihood will arrive tomorrow and for part of Wednesday before exiting the area sometime Thursday. A relatively stable air mass is expected across the northern half of the state, but a few strong to near severe storms will still be possible across Southern Oklahoma along the Red River valley. Occasional pockets of heavy rainfall will be possible during this episode mid-week. Some locations will receive between 1 and 2 inches of rain. Another front will move quickly across the area sometime Friday bringing another chance for showers and storms followed by another modest cooldown Friday evening into Saturday.

Monday Highs

The main upper-level trough is driving down the Pacific Northwest this morning and will move across part of the Intermountain region for the middle of the week. As this feature nears the state, showers and thunder will become more likely. A surface area of low pressure is expected to develop across the high plains of Texas and transit across the Red River valley sometime Tuesday night into Wednesday. Some questions remain regarding the exact location of the warm front associated with the system. Along and south of this expected boundary, strong to severe storms will be possible. At this point, most data suggest this area remains south of our immediate areas of concern. A few elevated storms may produce some small hail at times Wednesday, but still mostly across the southern region. If the warm sector migrates more northward than anticipated, severe weather threats will also increase more across the southern half of the state.

Rain Timeline

Temperatures will remain below the seasonal average. After chilly and frosty conditions this morning, afternoon highs will reach the middle upper 60s. Tomorrow morning starts in the mid-40s and stays in the lower 50s with occasional rain and thunder. Southeast winds are likely tomorrow also at 15 to 25 mph. Wednesday morning temperatures start in the mid-40s and rise into the upper 50s and lower 60s by the afternoon. Gusty east to northeast winds are likely Wednesday also at 15 to 25 mph. Thursday morning temperatures will start in the 40s and finish in the lower 60s. As the Friday front nears the area, highs will reach near 70 before additional showers and storms develop for part of Friday near and east of the metro by afternoon and evening. As the front passes Friday, northwest winds will return at 15 to 25 mph with falling afternoon and evening temps. Saturday morning lows will be expected in the 40s and daytime highs Saturday in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Sunday features the return of sunshine and highs near 70.

Have a super great day!
