Tulsa Police have arrested a driver accused of causing a four-vehicle crash overnight near East 31st Street and South 129th East Avenue.
Police say South 129th East Avenue is back open after being shut down for more than two hours to clean up the scene that involved three cars and a semi-truck.
Officers say around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, 20-year-old Jesus Belmontes, who police say was driving a Honda Civic, pulled out in front of a Mustang causing it to crash into the Honda Civic. Police say that caused a chain reaction, with the Mustang crashing into a semi-truck and a third car behind the semi hitting a curb.
According to police, the crash totaled the Mustang and EMSA transported a woman inside to the hospital. The extent of her injuries is currently unclear. Police say a man who was in the car with her decided to take himself to the hospital to get checked out.
Police shut down 129th East Avenue for more than two hours because the semi-truck, which was carrying baked goods, was leaking fuel, so they had to drain its fuel tanks.
Police say after everything happened the driver of the Honda Civic left the scene for a bit and then came back later with his family. Officers arrested him for driving without a driver's license and other traffic violations.
