TULSA, Okla. - Spring-like weather returns to Green Country on Monday.

Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:

A rather pleasant weather pattern will continue for the next few days before the changes bring additional scattered showers storm chances into the region by the end of the week. Temperatures will remain slightly below normal on Monday, but will continue to slowly warm through the middle and end of the week. Wednesday afternoon highs will reach the mid-70s and we should see the lower to mid-80s Thursday and Friday with the return of gusty south winds. High temperatures this afternoon will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s with more sunshine and north winds at 10 to 20 mph.

A blocking pattern remains underway for the next few days across the country. Oklahoma will be positioned between a strong upper low across the Upper Midwest and another low across the Pacific California coastal area. A mid-level ridge of high pressure extending from the Mexican plateau and part of Oklahoma will keep these major systems away from the state initially. The resulting upper airflow is from the northwest. We continue to see a small approach that could provide a few scattered showers over the next several days across part of the state, but the overall probability remains very low and out of our forecast. By Wednesday, the blocking pattern will break down. As the upper flow returns from the southwest, a short-wave trough will bring enhanced lift across the southern plains for part of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. A dry line feature will attempt to develop across the far western part of the state. A few showers of storms will attempt to develop during the latter half of the week and take a run of part of eastern OK. As we begin May, it doesn’t take much to spark off severe convection. As thunderstorms chances return for the second half of the week, so will some of the potential for strong and severe storms.

We’ll post more specifics tomorrow regarding the exact probabilities for the latter half of the week through the weekend.

Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day!
