The Osage Nation opened the Wakon Iron Community Center Thursday, replacing an obsolete building with a new 17,000 square foot building.
It's large enough to host gatherings and meals for 500 people.
The tribe opened a new chapel last week, next door to the new center. On Monday they plan to break ground on a new child care center, and an expansion and renovation of the visitors center.
Until that's done, the Osages are operating a pop up visitors center out of the Heritage Center, on Main Street.
The old Visitors Center on the East side of Pawhuska is closed during the renovation.
