Tulsa Library Partners With Impulse Creations For Comic Book Giveaway

People of all ages got new comic books from the Tulsa City Council Library.

The library partnered with Impulse Creations to give out a variety of comic books as part of national comic book day.

Organizers say comic books are especially helpful for both kids and adults who are learning to read or practicing English because it helps them get excited to read.

"Adult learners and English language learners get exposure to more complex vocabulary than they would in regular text and in general, comic books and graphic novels work the brain in a different way than black text on white paper," said Sarah Thrower.

Organizers say adding color to text also motivates people to read more.
