TULSA, Okla. - Showers and storms stick around on Monday morning.

Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:

Scattered showers and storms will continue on Monday morning, including the possibility of some locally heavy rainfall in a few spots. By midday into the early afternoon, the convectively induced area vorticity near and east of Tulsa combined with a southeastward moving front will support a continuation of renewed convective activity across northeastern OK. A few of the scattered thunderstorms could become locally strong with gusty winds and small hail, the main threat across far eastern sections of the state. By late afternoon into the early evening, most activity will be crossing the Oklahoma-Arkansas state line area. We’ll need to keep a low chance for a few scattered showers this evening, but the probability will remain low.

By late afternoon, the southward-moving cold front will bring a drier airmass into the area and this will be quite noticeable for the middle of the week. This dry air will yield comfortable conditions, including below-normal conditions Tuesday and near-normal for the rest of the week. The upper airflow from the northwest will bring another strong cold front into the area late Thursday evening into Friday, with increasing rain and thunder chances. The current timing and projections support the front clearing our area sometime Friday afternoon or evening, bringing very pleasant weather for the weekend.

High temperatures today are expected to stay in the mid-70s, with scattered showers and thunder. Mostly light north winds will range from 5 to 15 mph. Tuesday morning temperatures will start in the upper 50s and lower 60s with mostly cloudy conditions for most of the day. This will keep highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Wednesday morning supports even cooler morning lows with most locations in the lower to mid-5os. Afternoon highs are expected in the upper 70s with mostly sunny conditions Wednesday afternoon. South wind returns Thursday with afternoon high temperatures in the lower 80s before storm chances increase Thursday evening into Friday as the strong front near the state. Some pockets of strong to near-severe storms will be possible. Cooler and drier air will return for the weekend with morning lows in the 50s and afternoon highs in the mid-70s Saturday and upper 70s Sunday.

Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day!
