A Tulsa veterinarian is trying to find the thief who broke into her clinic over the weekend.
Dr. Bren Milleson said repairing the damage will cost more than what the thief took, but she's still angry this happened.
She said her biggest concern was the animals staying at the clinic. She's glad they're all OK, but wants to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Surveillance video shows a man walking around and adjusting the security camera at Tulsa Town Veterinary Hospital near 41st and Harvard.
"He wasn't a very smart criminal. So our ring camera out front, he tried to adjust it, so he had walked up to it, he was hooded, but until he got to that point, adjusted it, and then moved away, it was like (his) face," said Dr. Milleson.
Dr. Milleson said the man then used a rock to break through the window and went inside to look around.
She said it looks like he tried to take a microscope, but ended up making it out with less than $100.
She said surveillance video also shows an older model of a Subaru Forrester in the area at the time.
"It's just a different feeling, you know, getting robbed. Even though they didn't take a lot, the biggest expense is going to be replacing the commercial front door," Dr. Milleson said.
She said she filed a police report and is now taking new security precautions. She wants to make sure her employees feel safe at the clinic.
"When someone kind of violates that space, it just feels worrisome that other bad things can happen. And you're thinking, 'maybe I should bring one of my rottweilers up here and he's going to be a junkyard guard dog for the front area,'" she said.
Dr. Milleson said she feels bad someone would be so desperate they'd need to break in, but it's still not okay.
"Nobody should go through that feeling of now we're a little on edge and taking these extra precautions, and you don't want to feel like that through life," she said.
If you have any information on the break-in, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
