GRDA: Grand Lake Boat Explosion Injures 5, Including 5-Year-Old

Authorities say five people are hurt, including a five-year-old child, after a boat explosion Saturday evening.

The GRDA says it happened near Check-In Bay at Grand Lake around 8 p.m. All those injured were taken to a Tulsa hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

In another incident on Lake Hudson, two females were sent to the hospital after a single-boat crash.

GRDA said an 87-year-old man from Kansas died Saturday afternoon in the Honey Creek portion of the lake when he fell in the water while trying to step from a boat onto the dock.

His body was recovered around 2 p.m. His name has not been released.
