TULSA, Okla. - Shower chances hang around across parts of Green Country on Monday.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
A near-normal Memorial Day is expected regarding the weather. Highs will be in the lower to mid-80s with partly to mostly cloudy skies at times. South winds from 10 to 15 mph will remain. A few scattered storms will be possible. A few are already located near north central OK and southcentral Kansas this morning. Most of these will dissipate during the next few hours. But a convectively induced area of vorticity that developed last night with thunderstorms across the high plains of Texas will be drifting near our area later this afternoon. This feature will trigger some additional scattered storms into the early afternoon before also dissipating with the loss of daytime heating. The disturbance will drift southward later tonight and will fire a few storms across southern OK Tuesday. A few highly scattered storms will remain possible both Tuesday and Wednesday, but the overall coverage should be relatively low. The upper air pattern changes by the latter half of the week bringing some stronger upper air energy nearby. This should result in additional storms for the weekend.
Temps for the remainder of the week will be a few degrees above normal highs. Morning lows will also be slightly above normal. Low-level moisture will have a modest increase resulting in a slightly muggy pattern the next few days.
Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great and safe Memorial Day.
Alan Crone
