Preview: FC Tulsa Heads To California For Matchup With Monterey Bay F.C.

FC Tulsa heads to California this week for a matchup with Monterey Bay F.C. with hopes of building off their last-minute win last week against Louisville City FC.

Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. CT at Cardinale Stadium in Seaside, California. It's a 1,665-mile trip for FC Tulsa.

"I think as we talk each week, it’s about continuing to build, and this [result] is great because these guys have been working so hard on the training pitch without the reward that I felt like they have deserved,” Head Coach Blair Gavin told Tulsa media following the Louisville match. “Now, after getting that reward and understanding that feeling, hopefully we can keep carrying the work from training and the lessons and move forward with a very difficult win.

The two teams previously matched up in Tulsa on October 12, where FC Tulsa came away with a 2-0 victory.

It will be the second game for newly-acquired star Phillip Goodrum, and could be the first for Patrick Weah, who FC Tulsa acquired on a loan from Minnesota United FC on Tuesday.

SCOUTING MONTEREY BAY

Monterey Bay FC enters Wednesday's matchup with 10 days rest and a potent offense that's tied for second in the league (18 goals). They are winless in their last four games and have fallen all the way to 9th in the West, one point out of a playoff spot. The defense on the other hand, has allowed 17 goals in 11 matches.

The Official Watch Party of FC Tulsa will be at the Tulsan Athletic Club Wednesday night. This week, the club is offering free pickleball from 5 to 10 p.m. and discounted alcohol.
